US Crude Oil Export Ban Ended December 2015

End the Crude Oil Export Ban

The US crude oil export ban was lifted in December of 2015 after having been in place since 1975.

The removal of the ban was a boon to Permian Basin producers. Since the crude oil export ban was lifted, oil producers in Texas have experienced significant demand for their sweet light crude among refineries abroad that were unable to refine sour crude as efficiently.
